PROJECT OVERVIEW
ARCHITECTURE
Working on projects outside the city introduces unique challenges, especially with older homes. These structures often lack original floor plans, and previous renovations complicate verifying existing conditions. For this project, our goal was to open up the entire ground floor, centering the design around the kitchen. To achieve this, we meticulously verified and stabilized the structure, ensuring the space could be transformed as intended. By addressing these complexities, we successfully created an open, inviting environment where the kitchen serves as the heart of the home, blending functionality with warmth in a cohesive, modern design.
INTERIOR DESIGN
For this modern beach house kitchen, we drew inspiration from the river rock of the dual-sided fireplace. Sleek 1/4" shaker-style cabinets in a custom white oak stain that resembles rift wood capture the coastal essence. To complement this, we used soft white upper cabinets for a refined two-tone effect. The island features a minimalist, concrete-like quartz countertop, which enhances its presence as a stylish piece of furniture rather than a mere kitchen fixture. This design seamlessly blends elegance and functionality, embodying the serene "beachy vibe" we envisioned for the space.
OWNERS REPRESENTATION
Our owner's representative service streamlines project coordination between clients and contractors. While this is straightforward for our city clients, we’ve adapted our approach for those outside the city. We implement virtual check-ins with the contractor and set clear milestones to ensure rigorous quality control. This tailored structure allows us to maintain high standards and effective oversight, regardless of location, ensuring a smooth and successful project outcome.
